If love can see us through, then we'll be together somewhere out there.

What?

Here I would like to clarify exactly what I mean when I say "online love."

By "online love", I DON'T mean people who use internet dating services or the equivilant; like people who search the net with the sole purpose of finding someone compatible, and once they find someone who has the qualities they seek, they email them back and forth for a few weeks and then go ahead and meet them face to face.

People in this case are just using the internet as a tool to meet people, and it's really no different than those telephone dating services, or personal ads in the newspaper. I'm not saying there's anything WRONG with using those type of things, but it's NOT what I mean when I'm talking about online love!

When I say "online love", I'm referring to people who meet online and actually carry out a significant portion of thier relationship *within the online world* before ever having met each other face to face- if they ever get to meet face to face at all.

I Believe in Online Love is about believing that it's possible to have genuine feelings for someone through the internet BEFORE you ever meet them in "real life".

Also, let me make it clear that while romantic love is definitely a part of online love, it's not everything. I Believe in Online Love is also about freindship love- having a true freind over the internet that you love and care about just the same as you would your "real life" freinds.

So don't feel that you have to have been in love online, or had an online boyfreind/girlfreind to join the clique. As long as you believe that it is possible to have a real bond with someone over the internet, then you believe in online love!
