Though I'd have given anything just to be there with you.
Rules
The clique is closed, so you can no longer join, but I'm keeping these rules here solely because I think they're hilarious.
Read these rules and make sure you qualify before joining the clique!
1. You must believe in online love, of course! Make sure you've read the What? page so you know exactly what is meant by believing in online love.
2. You must have a website or a blog/journal- some kind of permanent place on the web where you can display the code.
3. The purpose of this clique is simply to unite together all those who believe that online love is real, so I won't be too picky about what kind of site you have, but let's try NOT to have any racist or homophobic content, or sites that consist of nothing but about 5,000 colorfully animated "under construction" signs, or layouts with hideous clashing backgrounds and text where you TyPe LiKe tHiS!
4. You must put the code up CORRECTLY and have it up BEFORE you join! I've run another clique besides this plus two webrings, and you wouldn't believe the amount of time I've had to waste hunting around websites for codes that are not there. I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but it is not possible to join a clique or webring without putting the code up! If the sites that are a part of the clique/ring don't display the code, then that sort of defeats the entire purpose of having a clique or ring, now doesn't it? Also, do not hide the code in some back corner of your site where no one, including me, will ever be able to find it. Put it someplace logical, like on your main/splash page or on your cliques/rings page. If you join, and I go to your site and can not find the code, you will not be accepted! Also please make sure the URL in the code is correct and that it breaks out of frames!
4. If you are using an image to link to the clique, you must save the image TO YOUR OWN SERVER. As I mentioned, I've run another clique besides this plus two webrings, and I know from harsh experience that people apparently do not understand the meaning of the sentence "save the image to your own server." So allow me to explain it here:
When I say "save it to your own server", what I mean is that you right click on the image, choose save, and then upload it to YOUR server. When I say YOUR server, I mean the server that YOU use to host YOUR website on; as opposed to MY server, which I pay good money to host MY websites on. See the difference between MY server and YOUR server? Do not suck my bandwidth by direct linking to my images! If you can't/don't want to use up space on your server by uploading an image, then simply use one of the text links. You are also welcome to make your own image, and donations of codes are always greatly appreciated!
5. In the comments box, write down "This is a small-time clique that probably gets about one submission a day max, so it's not as if the webmaster is squandering hours checking sites and has absolutely no free time to even bother to look at a site whose owner may not have read the rules, but we're still going to force you to write some nonsensical phrase in the comment box to PROVE that you read the rules because we're just elitist like that and we like to make people jump through hoops, even though most people probably just scroll to the bottom of the rules page anyways in order to find out what to write in the comment box."
Er...for those that don't understand sarcasm- no, seriously, don't actually write that in the comment box. Please use the comment box to let me know if you are already a member and are updating your info, or if you have made your own image and would like to donate it to the clique. Otherwise the comment box is optional, you can write whatever you want!
Well, that's it! The rules may seem long, but really they're not hard at all to follow; basically you just have to have a place to put the code up, and then make sure you put it up correctly. So if you've read and understand the rules and feel you qualify, and you've already gotten your Code up, then go ahead and Join!
